The General Body
The General Body of the Institute of Health Systems (IHS) comprises of all types of members including charter members, honorary members, and institutional members but excluding all types of associate members.
Role of the General Body:
- Elects members to the Executive Council (EC).
- Advise the EC regarding the policy and qualifications for admission of new members.
- Considers the annual report and audited accounts of the Institute and make such observations as deemed fit.
- Advise the EC on all academic matters including the control and management of the libraries.
- Advise the EC regarding priorities for research and training.
- To make recommendations to improve the functioning of the Institute for achievement of the objects.
The first General Body meeting was held on 9th July 1994. Thereafter, General Body meetings have usually been organised once for every completed financial year. The Director presents a report on the Institute's activities to the Annual General body Meeting (AGM) every year, along with the Audited accounts of the Institute for the concerned financial year.
