 The National Consortium of Training Institutes in            Community Health (NCTICH)


 
 
The NCTICH is a pool of 25 members consisting of departments of community medicine/ health of well established and reputed medical colleges, selected health and family welfare training centres, state institutes of health and family welfare, and NGO's working in this area. The goal of the consortium is to contribute towards improving training and to carry out research related to community health through collaboration and coordination among institutions. The activities of the consortium include conducting research related to various aspects of community health, sharing of research databases among member institutions, participating in collaborative research projects, developing training curriculum and materials, developing innovative training methods and aids, and organizing seminars.

The NCTICH is an alliance developed by the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW). The NIHFW is an apex technical institute funded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. NIHFW acts as "think tank" for the promotion of health and family welfare programmes in the country through various activities such as education and training, research, evaluation, projects, specialized services, and consultancy services.
