G. Surendra

Mr G.Surendra holds a Post Graduate Degree in Statistics from Sri Venkteswara University, Tirupati. His first stint was in Vital Statistics (improvement of Registration of Births and Deaths) as a statistician in Public Health dept. After serving 27 yrs in Govt of Andhra Pradesh, he took VRS in the cadre of Director in Bureau of Economics and Statistics and accepted the challenging position in L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) as Associate Director and Chief Technology Officer. He implemented Health Informatics and Information Infrastructure projects like Tele-Education, Tele-Medicine. He implemented Tele-Ophthalmology in Primary and Secondary eye care centers in LVPEI Health Eye Pyramid. As part of Health Informatics, he evaluated Electronic Medical/Health records and recommended suitable product for implementation besides his contribution to Bio-Medical Equipment Technology and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for accreditation under NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals). Then he moved to the Institute of Health Systems (IHS) and working for the last five years. At IHS, he acquired skills in health financing and health accounts by developing MTEF for HMFW dept, AP for the years 2008-09 to 2012-13. He also attended the task of health budget & expenditure tracking exercise for the states of AP, MP and Kerala. Further, he is involved in the health systems research like (1) Assessment of Doctor Availability in Primary Health centers and provide inputs for Human Resource Planning for Health and (2) Andhra Pradesh Civil Registration Sysem Study. As Joint Director, Bureau of Economics and Statistics, he conducted Socio Economic Surveys in different areas. He handled a major survey called "Multipurpose House hold Survey (MPHS)" in the year 1995, wherein he was instrumental in designing the survey, field study, data acquisition and building database of all families in State of Andhra Pradesh for use by Govt for various programmes.
During his tenure in District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) as Project Economist, he wrote an Approach Paper on Land Development Projects (LDP) along with Dr Prasanta Mahapatra and submitted a project Report on LDPs to Govt, got sanctioned and implemented. As General manager in APTS, he implemented Information Infrastructure projects. He gave IT Consultancy to Govt of Goa for developing software for 10 departments. As a member of consultancy team he studied and submitted a report on reorganisation of Revenue Dept to Govt of Orissa sponsored under DFID. As Project Manager in HMDA, he got rated HMDA by Fitch Ratings, raised Rs 500 Cr loan for ORR Phase-I.

Dr.Prasanta Mahapatra  

Dr. Prasanta Mahapatra, is a medical doctor, a Takemi Fellow in International Health and a PhD in International Health Policy & Economics from Harvard University. After practicing for sometime as a Medical Officer in the Central Government Health Scheme, Dr. Mahapatra joined the Indian Administrative Service, in 1980. He served in various capacities in East-West Godavari, Nellore, Nalgonda, Krishna and Guntur districts. Dr. Mahapatra is experienced in revenue, general administration, disaster management, rural development, tribal welfare, women welfare, medical, health, information technology, irrigation and school education sectors. His experiences in the health field include, Registrar of the NTR University of Health Sciences, Director Medical Education, Commissioner Medical Services, a faculty at the Administrative Staff College of India, Director Institute of Health Systems, and Director - Vice Chancellor of the Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences. Before his retirement from civil service, he was the Director General of the MCR Human Resources Development Institute and Ex-officio Special Chief Secretary to Govt. of AP. He has served as member of ICMR Scientific Advisory Group, and Core Group of the Department of Health Research. He was a member of the steering group of the National Nutrition Mission. Currently he is a member of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group of the WHO - Alliance for Health Policy & Systems Research. Dr. Mahapatra has contributed to the Global Burden of Disease estimates published in the World Bank’s World Development Report, 1993. He has published articles and books in the fields of general administration, rural development, and public health. Currently, Dr. Mahapatra is the Dean at the Institute of Health Systems, Hyderabad, India.

Manikanta Reddy E         


Mr. Manikanta Reddy holds a Post Graduation in MPH (Master in Public Health) specialization in Occupational & Environmental Health from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai and MSc (Chemistry) from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur. During Academics he participated in many Public Health Programs, Camps and he presented a poster presentation in 1st International conference on Environmental & Occupational Health in Manipal University, and he got a First prize for that poster presentation.  As a Project Coordinator & Supervisor, he worked in 2 ˝ years in Ramky Enviero Engineers in Kolkata and Hyderabad and After MPH he worked 15tn months as an ARO (Assistant Research Officer) in NBSP-Project in The INCLEN Trust International in Haryana. Currently he is working as a Research Fellow position in The Institute of Health Systems from October 2014 onwards. 


Srinivas V         


Mr. V.Srinivas holds a Master Degree in Economics from the Osmania University, Hyderabad. He has done Bachelorate of Education from Annamalai University, Chennai. Mr. V.Srinivas is currently working as a Program Officer at the Institute of Health Systems (IHS), From the period of 09.07.2014, a nonprofit health systems research organization. Before joining IHS he worked at CRIDA, ICAR (Central Research Institute of Dry land Agriculture, Santhoshnagar, and Hyderabad, for the Period of January 2000 to 08.07.2014. He has worked in different positions like as a Project Officer, Research Associate Senior Research Fellow. He has worked as a Senior Research Fellow in Directorate of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, for the period of 1995 to 2000. He has also worked in Centre for Economic and Social Sciences (CESS), as a Data Collection Executive. He has got Experience of Research work and Field work Data Collection in all the states in India. He has knowledge in Computerization and Analysis, Conducting the training programmes for women farmers and farmers mobilization, did soil sampling, Chemical and analysis, He did the various Socio-Economic Evaluation of Rain fed Technologies in different areas of and different Projects in CRIDA, Hyderabad.  He has 19 years of experience in Research field. 


Salma Shaik         


Mrs.Salma Shaik holds a Post Graduation in Microbiology with 9.2 grades, at V.S.Laxmi Degree and PG College, Kakinada from Andhra University; she got a proficiency award and medal for higher grade of marks in PG.  During Academics She participated in Seminar’s and Ellocution competitions also. She presented a paper presentation in State Level Seminar conducted at Annavaram Sathyavathi devi degree college, Kakinada. She got a Momentum and certificate for that paper presentation. She also has done projects in State Institute of Fisheries Technology, kakinada and Dr.Reddy’s Laboratory, Yanam. Now she is working as a Microbiologist intern  in The Institute of Health Systems from JULY  2014 onwards.
